Can genital warts lead to cancer or HIV?
I noticed a growth around my private part but not my penis but within the layers below the penis region , and I visited a pharmacist and I was told I had genital wart . Also told to use a cream called podophyllin cream , I will like to know how long the wart stays in the body and also if it doesn’t cause cancer or diseases like hiv or aids

Small flesh bumps down there are caused by a virus called HPV. The virus can stay in your body for a long time. But medicine like podophyllin cream can treat the bumps. Your pharmacist will guide you on using the cream. The bumps do not cause cancer, HIV, or AIDS. But you may see small, flesh-colored bumps in your private parts. Be sure to follow the cream use instructions carefully. Keep using the cream until the bumps go away. If you have more worries or questions, talk to a dermatologist.
