Can Rabies Virus Be Contracted from a Rabid Dog's Drool on the Road Surface?
A rabid dog was found and taken in captive from the IIT Bombay campus on 16th of March. We visited the campus on 24th March, where my three year old daughter fell down on the street and got a minor scratch on her knee which was covered with her pant. Now is there a possibility that she can get rabies from the virus that could have been on the road surface from the drooling of the animal?

The probability of her catching rabies from a scratch on her knee which occurred because of a fall on the road pavement is very low. While it is advised to consult a pediatrician whenever you have any questions about your child`s health.
